Honoring Kevin M. Robert: A Life of Service and Compassion

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Kevin M. Robert, one of our longest-serving team members at Sand Lake Ambulance. Kevin passed away suddenly on August 27, 2025. A Certified Flight Paramedic with 15 years at Air MethodLife Net of New York, Kevin dedicated his life to helping others.

Kevin’s career spanned decades of service. He was a founder of the John Ahearn Rescue Squad in Mechanicville and served as a paramedic for numerous EMS organizations, including Clifton Park & Halfmoon Emergency Corps, Malta-Stillwater EMS, and of course, Sand Lake Ambulance. Beyond his field work, he shared his knowledge as a paramedic instructor at HVCC, shaping the next generation of EMS providers.

For those of us at Sand Lake Ambulance, Kevin was a steady presence, a source of wisdom, and a model of compassion. He cared deeply about his patients, his fellow EMS professionals, and our community. Outside of work, Kevin cherished time with his daughters, friends, and the simple joys of life.

In recognition of Kevin’s service, Governor Hochul has directed that flags be flown at half-staff on Thursday, September 4, across all state government buildings. It is a fitting tribute to a man who spent his life answering the call to help others.

Kevin will be deeply missed, but his impact on our team, our community, and the countless lives he touched will never be forgotten. We invite our community to honor Kevin’s memory by reflecting on the importance of service, compassion, and support for those who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe.
